Our Story.

Inclusive Ski Touring is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on getting more people outside by introducing them to the joys of ski touring and split-boarding at little to no cost to the individual. We started as a group of friends open to all, but as we grew to over 200 participants throughout the 20/21 winter it became apparent that there was a need for a formal organization. What makes us unique is the vibrant ambiance and learning environment that further develops participants' knowledge of uphill skiing. Along with this we facilitate a culture that drives genuine friendships by connecting strangers with like minded individuals who would not otherwise be likely to interact with one another.

Impact.

2023 Season Impact: In 2023 we provided the opportunity for 644 individuals to get out ski touring or split-boarding through our programs. Out of these 644 individuals, 74% had never been touring before joining or had only been once. 69% of our participants in the 2023 season were female, 28% male, and 1% nonbinary. 82% of our participants were white with 18% being people of color.

2024 Season Impact: In 2024 we provided the opportunity for 745 individuals to join our programs. Out of these 745 individuals, 70% had never been touring before joining or had only been once, 76% of our participants in the 2024 season were female, 18% male, and 4% nonbinary. Again in 2024 82% of our participants were white with 18% being people of color.

Values.

Inclusive Ski Touring is the only destination offering a group of people the opportunity to engage in uphill skiing, no matter the ability in a welcoming fashion. What makes us unique is the vibrant ambiance and learning environment that further develops participants' knowledge of uphill skiing. Along with this we facilitate a culture that drives genuine friendships by connecting strangers with like minded individuals.

We strive for an environment that is welcoming and open to everyone. We work to ensure everyone is comfortable, provided for, and enjoying their time out. Our end goal is to provide more opportunities for more individuals to get out and recreate by ski touring or split-boarding at little to no cost for the individual.

The lack of diversity throughout the outdoor industry is a substantial issue. Inclusive is not only in regards to ability levels but to all individuals especially those from marginalized communities. Part of our goals is to offer a safe and welcoming space for absolutely everyone. While we can’t change the industry overall, we’re doing our best to play our part and facilitate equal opportunities for all. We are proud to share that in an effort to make a more direct impact for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities this upcoming winter we will be hosting 6 programs directly focused on this impact.
